First Impressions of The Harbor Freight Folding Trailer

Which has given me a good understanding of the quality of products that Harbor Freight produces. In my experience that provide great woodworking products as affordable prices that are great for beginner woodworkers. But this was my first time with a Harbor Freight product that was directly related to woodworking as it was a folding trailer.
I have always need a trailer for hauling wood and projects from my workstation to a job site, but I never wanted to purchase a full sized trailer as it would take up too much space in my workstation. So I decided to go with a folding trailer instead. After hours of research and talking to colleagues I decided to go with the Harbor Freight Folding Trailer. The description of the folding trailer claimed that it would provide me with roughly 1200lbs of hauling capacity which was more than enough for my projects.
First Time Using The Harbor Freight Folding Trailer
I was a little nervous to use the Harbor Freight Folding Trailer for the first time as I didn’t have much experience with pulling a trailer. I knew that I would have to drive slower and be more careful compared to normal driving. I loaded up the trailer and found that I had more than enough room for all of my projects and was happy with the capacity the trailer provided.
When I first started pulling the trailer I took it slow to test it out. But soon I realized that I had nothing to worry about. The Harbor Freight Folding Trailer tracked behind my truck smoother than I was expecting and was rather easy to drive. When there is weight in the trailer it is easier to pull compared to when the trailer is completely empty. When the trailer is completely empty the wheels won’t track as well.
Pros Of The Harbor Freight Folding Trailer
Some Harbor Freight products are best suited for beginner woodworkers compared to more advanced woodworkers, but the folding trailer seems to be a product that is great for all.
- It is affordable. When you compare the price of this folding trailer to other trailers you will realize that this is one of the best price points for a trailer.
- It doesn’t take up much space. This allows me to haul all of my projects but not take up a lot of room in my workstation.
- It is easy to drive. I was surprised how easy it was to drive and operate this folding trailer.
Cons Of The Harbor Freight Folding Trailer
I had a great experience with the Harbor Freight Folding Trailer but it is important to give you as much detail as possible so you can make the best buying decision possible.
- It isn’t as large as a standard trailer. For some people the size will be fine, but if you work exclusively with extra large projects a folding trailer might not be for you.
- It won’t provide the towing capacity required for some woodworkers. With roughly 1200lbs of towing capacity it was perfect for my projects, but heavier projects wouldn’t be able to use this folding trailer.

I was a little skeptical when I was recommended to try a folding trailer that was created by Harbor Freight because I had only used their woodworking tool such as their dust collector, table saw, and drill press. But I was pleasantly surprised with how well the folding trailer worked for all of my needs. If you are a woodworker who is looking for a trailer that doesn’t take up much space then I highly recommend this product.
